How My Recent Trade Calls Worked Out (Great)
July 26th, 2010 by John BrasherI have called a number of covered call trades lately, which have all worked out, even in this goofy market. Here is a recap:
July 6, 2020 Newsletter Issue
I called three trades in that article, for the July expiration cycle:
FLIR Systems (FLIR)
CF Industries (CF)
Baker Hughes (BHI)
At July expiration, FLIR closed a few pennies above the price when I called the trade. CF and BHI have continued to rock on higher. Any covered calls on these stocks made when I called them - or after - would have worked.
On the CallWriter.com Member’s Trading Lab, July 19, 2010
I called trades or stock watches in these stocks, whose prices at the time of the lab are shown:
$39.04 - JP Morgan (JPM) - trade
$54.85 - Joy Global (JOYG) - trade
$47.70 - Alaska Airlines (ALK) - watch for earnings 7/22
$119.94 - Amazon (AMZN) - Watch for earnings 7/22
$245.58 - Apple (AAPL) - watch for earnings 7/20
Stock watch means wait for earnings and then give the stock a couple of days. July expiration had already passed, so these trades (and stock watches) were for August expiration.
JPM - $40.24, holding its own
JOYG - $54.89, up $4.00 and down a bit today,
ALK - $51.36, up about $3.50 (airlines having a great quarter)
AMZN - $116.76, it’s down, but we would not have entered the trade
AAPL - $259.38, up over $14 since the lab
CallWriter members should make it a point to watch the Members’ Trading Labs, since I usually give out a few picks, as well as dispensing other tips and tricks. If you cannot make the lab, be sure to watch the recording.
For those not CallWriter members, you are missing these very important labs. It isn’t just luck that my picks work. I dig into the charts and know about these companies.
